Some of my 2020 wins

Dec 31, 2020

The year of 2020 - what an interesting year. It was a year that most of us didn’t see coming, that felt filled to the brim with twists, turns, challenges, and….many, many new and exciting silver linings as a result.

I imagine that for some, finding the silver linings and even putting focus on them feels triggering. This post may not be for you.

For those of you who are ready to appreciate, and even spend the majority of your energy on the silver linings, read on.

We know that “spending” your energy is like voting for more of what you want. I’ve learned this after decades of “mis-creating” or getting so wrapped up in what’s going wrong, that I created more of it or kept the cycle going much longer than I consciously intended.

Here’s where things can get tricky, though: finding balance between acknowledging, processing, learning from and then releasing the challenges with focusing on where you want to go, what you want to do, who you desire to be. That balance is a whole other topic for another day :-).

So, without further adieu, here are 12 amazing silver linings that I’ve welcomed in throughout this year. Here’s the challenge - read through them without comparing them to yourself:

  1. I have spent SO much less time in the car, driving to and from classes/clients.

  2. My students haven’t had to travel to class (I mean, they barely have to get dressed).

  3. I have been able to work with all of my clients and teach all of my classes via Zoom.

  4. I have been able to reach and help more people, more-so than I would have because Zoom transports me across the world, plus, I now have more time to actually help people since I’m not in the car so much.

  5. I have had much more time to be consistent with my own self-care.

  6. I have reconnected (virtually) with cousins that I’ve dreamed of having in my life since I was a little girl.

  7. I’ve deepened my relationship with my best friend.

  8. I have had more time to get outside and enjoy nature more throughout each of our seasons.

  9. I have been cooking and baking much more.

  10. I have realized the extra-importance of loving where I live and continue to hone my vision of where that is.

  11. I have been able to bubble with my sister and her family, and continue helping she and her husband raise their 4 incredible kiddos.

  12. I have put more thought, feeling, and consideration into the bigger picture of what I truly want in my personal life and in my business.

Now it’s your turn: what has happened for you this year that wouldn’t have, couldn’t have, happened otherwise? Again, no comparison, simply make your own list.

Then, read through each one and really FEEL a sense of gratitude for it.

Lots of love,
